FAQs

Get ready to embark on your next adventure with Playa Yachting

Can I bring outside vendors?

Outside vendors (DJs, photographers, chefs, etc.) may be allowed with approval and could have extra fees. Some boats require preferred vendors or don’t allow outside vendors at all. Just let us know in advance, and we’ll check what’s possible for your yacht.

Are there any other fees?

Yes, there’s a $20 per person marina fee, payable in cash before departure to avoid credit card fees.

Can we bring kids and children on board?

Yes. Just note that you are fully responsible for your kids and must keep watch of them at all times. Safety is our number one priority so we ask you to be extremely vigilant of the safety of your children if they are coming onboard.

What if I get seasick?

We’ll do our best to stick to calm waters. If you're prone to motion sickness, we recommend taking one Dramamine (check with your doctor first) and avoiding too much alcohol, as the combo can make symptoms worse.

What if we're running late?

Please let us know right away. We recommend arriving 15–20 minutes early. If you’re late, time may be deducted from your tour to avoid overlapping with other bookings.

Can we bring our own alcohol?

Most tours include an open bar, but if you'd like to bring your own, let us know in advance. Some boats allow it, but a corkage fee may apply.

Is Gratuity included?

Gratuity isn’t included but is always appreciated. A standard tip for the crew is 10–20% of the charter fee.

What should I bring?
  • A towel if you would like to go swimming and your swim gear
  • ECO-FRIENDLY sunscreen (if it is a spray, be sure to apply it before boarding their vessels so as not to slip)
  • A sarong, light jacket, or scarf as sometimes it can be a little chilly with the wind
  • Sunglasses
  • We have a Bluetooth system, so feel free to bring your phone or table if you want to have your tunes!
  • Hat: be prepared that it can get very windy, so make sure you have a hat that is secure if needed
Do you offer private transportation?

Yes, we can arrange it for an additional cost. Just send us your exact location, and we’ll provide a quote.

If we don’t need transportation how do we get to our boat?

If you do not need transportation we will send detailed directions and a map pin for you to know where exactly to meet your host.

Can I wait until i get to Playa del Carmen to reserve a tour?

Yes. However, we do recommend to reserve in advance to secure availability of a certain yacht or package. It is easier for us to accommodate a reservation that is made with ample time than a last minute one.

Is deposit refundable?

The deposit is a non-refundable deposit unless the tour is cancelled due to severe weather conditions. We will do our best reschedule weather related cancellations otherwise we guarentee 100% of your money back.

Do you have vegetarian, vegan and or gluten free options available ?

When reserving your tour please let us if you or any of your guests have any dietary restrictions and we will be happy to try and accommodate!

Are there life jackets available?

Yes, we provide life jackets for everyone

Are your tours, yachts and boats safe?

Safety is our top priority. We do our best to maintain a safe and secure environment with our certified crew and captains. Nevertheless, we understand  that due to the alcohol provided in the tours we have to be extra careful so we do ask every guest to be responsible for their safety and that of others. We ask everyone to agree to certain rules and sign a safety and waiver agreement before boarding any boat.
